Women fighting for climate protection

Opening hours: Tuesday and Friday, 5–8 PM and during events and special opening for “Berlin Art Week” daily Sept. 9–13, 2026 also 5–8 PM.

In all parts of the world, women are fighting against the climate crisis. Both visibly, such as German activist Luisa Neubauer, Mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, or African climate ambassador Vanessa Nakate, as well as in numerous ways in everyday life. Structural and geographical conditions ensure that women can be particularly affected by climate change. At the same time, they are still underrepresented in political decision-making processes and technical climate professions.

Following an international open call, the exhibition brings together selected works by women artists from Europe and asks: How do women shape climate action? What challenges do they face, what visions do they develop, and what contribution do they make to a sustainable future?

The works on display open up diverse perspectives on gender, climate, and social change. They make engagement visible, question existing structures, and invite reflection on responsibility, justice, and transformation.

Sustainability is not only the theme of the exhibition, but also part of its implementation. The women artists have provided information on the share of reused materials in their works. The exhibition is planned and realized in a resource-efficient way.
