Endless Summer
Exhibition 15.10. -10.12.2021
The permanent high over Europe creates vacation joy at home and crop failures due to drought. Will the sensual desire for paradise be fulfilled? One enjoys lots of sun, always being outside and vacation at home. A hedonistic dream.
However, the climate crisis is felt ambivalently. “Higher fuel prices are felt immediately in the wallet, but climate change comes insidiously. “Heat deaths, devastation from heavy rains in 2021, fires worldwide from drought. In Canada, people are afraid of summer because of fires.
Continuing on without personal and political change is becoming more and more difficult. People hold on to fossil comfort, suppress the crisis, point to other countries that should change.
In a public call for entries, we invited artists internationally to submit contributions for the theme described above for a group exhibition in our exhibition spaces.
We thank the artists for the many applications and have selected 17 international artists from Austria, Bulgaria, Portugal, Finland, USA and Germany.
We look forward to exciting, joyful and stimulating encounters with guests and the artists!
