Globally usable freshwater supplies are dwindling. Researchers have declared global water bankruptcy. Water on land and in the sea is polluted with plastic and chemicals; some are forever chemicals. The industry keeps producing new, unknown substances that are found, for example, in the Rhine and pass through wastewater treatment plants. What are the alternatives? Who is affected, and who are the actors who can change this?
