Wir bedauern, dass unsere Ausstellung von 2019 heute in 2021 wieder aktuell ist. Dieses Mal m\u00fcssen wir leider auch von Toten sprechen. Es ist\u00a0 nicht das Wetter, sondern die Klimakrise.<\/a><\/h2>\r\n

\u00dcberflutete Keller, abgedeckte D\u00e4cher, im Schlamm versinkende M\u00f6bel. Immer \u00f6fter<\/a> treten meist im Sommer extreme Wetterereignisse kurzer Dauer und hoher Intensit\u00e4t wie Starkregen oder St\u00fcrme an bisher nicht erwarteten Orten auf und verursachen Millionensch\u00e4den. Ganze \u00c4cker sind weggesp\u00fclt worden und haben Ortschaften verschlammt. In der Ebene k\u00f6nnen weite Fl\u00e4chen schnell unter Wasser stehen.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Reasons are climate change, increasing land sealing, increased stormwater drainage through sewer systems, short crop rotations, humus depletion and uncovered areas of intensive agriculture. For a long time, urban planners thought that water was technically controllable. Today, states, municipalities and citizens are being asked to take precautions<\/a>. Renaturation measures on water bodies are intended to contribute to flood protection. Stormwater detention basins and flood depressions are established, heavy rainfall risk is managed, and flood alert levels are modeled. Organic farming protects the resource soil and helps to store rain.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

The exhibition “The Flood Today” features artworks by 13 artists who explore the relationship between human intervention and natural disasters. Man’s impact on the Earth is growing exponentially and leaving a very long mark. Rising sea levels, washed away fields, silted villages, sunken houses are the result of climate change, increasing soil sealing, increased storm water drainage and intensive agriculture.<\/p>\r\n

The multidisciplinary exhibition features paintings, photography, video, installation, collage, and performance on the theme of heavy rain. The powerful and often disturbing statements show deep personal concern and artistic expression in painting, video, installation, object, collage, vitrine and performance:<\/p>\r\n

<\/span><\/span>Charlotte Bastian <\/a><\/span>painted how the<\/span> floods in 7 countries of Central Europe <\/span>2<\/span>013 caused days of rain<\/span>e<\/span>.
Thomas Behling<\/a><\/span>shows in his showcase a picture of the earth at a sea level rise of <\/span> <\/span>60 meters.
J\u00f6rn Birkholz \/ Stephan Gro\u00df<\/a> <\/span>combine in their <\/span>surrealist photomontage in a cheerfully ironic vision of an apocalyptic deluge, combining various scenes of triumph and disaster.
Barbara Czarnojahn<\/a><\/span> builds her pictures <\/span>au<\/span>s<\/span> biographical material in the field of tension between utility, threat, and beauty.
Helga Franz<\/a> examines<\/span>t<\/span> in her aerial photographs <\/span>as a photographer and pilot changes manipulated landscapes.
<\/span><\/span>Amelie von Godin <\/span>will <\/span> performat the finissage <\/span>the<\/span> creature whose memory still seems to live in the Western, upper middle class.
Gerten Goldbeck:<\/a> <\/span> In her installation, we drown in the flood of data without changing the world.
Isabell Kamp<\/a><\/span> shows a video in which a bust, grabbed by two hands, steadily disintegrates in the water.
Maria Corporal:<\/a><\/span> In her experimental <\/span>video <\/span>with<\/span> animation <\/span>she sees the climatological events she documents as warning signs for big industry and governments.
Angela Alexander-Lloyd<\/a><\/span> Their<\/span> Work is a metaphor for our collective lethargic engagement with the critical issues of climate change.
Anna Rafetseder<\/a><\/span> shows the<\/span> obvious <\/span>connection between human intervention and “natural disasters.”
Rosa Schmidt <\/span>draws a picture between post-apocalyptic olive branch hope and urban intervention in her performative installation.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\r\n
