International Open Call – Deadline January 18, 2027<\/h2>\n

Exhibition in Berlin March 19 \u2013 April 30, 2027, Tue. and Fri., 5\u20138 PM<\/p>\n

In a public call for submissions, we invite international artists to submit contributions on the theme described below for a juried group exhibition in our exhibition spaces.<\/p>\n

Forschungsgruppe Kunst: OCEAN TO HOME! Exhibition \u201cThe Sea\u201d, GG3, Berlin, 2019<\/p><\/div>\n

Globally usable freshwater supplies are dwindling. Researchers have declared global water bankruptcy<\/a>. Water on land and in the sea is polluted with plastic and chemicals; some are forever chemicals. The industry<\/a> keeps producing new, unknown substances that are found, for example, in the Rhine and pass through wastewater treatment plants. The Spree \u2013 from whose bank filtration Berlin draws a significant share of its drinking water \u2013 is threatened with carrying considerably less water in the coming years.<\/p>\n

What are the alternatives? Who is affected, and who are the actors who can change this?<\/p>\n

The exhibition, with its works, is planned and implemented in a resource-saving manner. Artists are requested to specify the percentage of recycled material used in their work. As a team, sustainability is not just our content, but also our practice.<\/p>\n

We are accompanying the exhibition with a dialogue-oriented program. Artists as well as external participants are cordially invited to contribute their own ideas for lectures, workshops, readings, or other formats.<\/p>\n

Disciplines<\/strong>: object, sculpture, installation, photography, painting, drawing, printmaking, video with credits given, sound is possible. Performative contributions (performance, DJ, concert, or similar) for the opening, artist talk, or closing are expressly welcome.<\/p>\n

Individual artists or existing artist groups may apply online with a maximum of three works.<\/p>\n

International works:<\/strong> Physical works from the EU, letters and videos also from non-EU countries.<\/p>\n

We offer<\/strong> exhibition space with equipment, a bar, promotion via email, website, social media, web and print flyers, organization of the work texts, the accompanying program and guided tours, and documentation.
\nWe do not charge any fees for application, exhibition, etc. As a free, self-organized project space, we work on a voluntary basis.<\/p>\n

For sent works, we ask that senders include the return postage.<\/p>\n

Delivery and setup of the exhibition: March 18, 3\u20136 PM. We ask that painting frames be fitted with eyelets and that instructions for technical equipment be included.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, there is no budget for production, further technical equipment, transport and insurance – the room is technically secured.<\/p>\n

We expect good cooperation and agree on rules of cooperation<\/a>, pdf.<\/p>\n

Attendance for regional artists is desired for the opening and artist talk, as well as supervising the exhibition.<\/p>\n
