Bahlecke)<\/p><\/div>\n<h1>What is sustainable art?<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Art whose practitioners practice sustainability in theme, material, and location.<\/li>\n<li>Reduces your own ecological footprint.<\/li>\n<li>Increases the ecological handprint through impact on society,<\/li>\n<li>Is accessible, dialogic,<br \/>\nUses exhibitions, website, mailing, press<br \/>\n&#8220;Do good and talk about it&#8221;,<\/li>\n<li>Practices consistency and credibility,<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Economic, social and ecological sustainability go hand in hand.<\/h2>\n<p>Germany has the greatest ecological deficits: Climate protection, species extinction.<br \/>\nIn international comparison, Germany is considered to be a largely functioning state in economic and social terms.<br \/>\nSolving deficits with a focus on the ecological, combined with the social and economic.<\/p>\n<h2>Motifs for sustainable art<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Climate change and species extinction are major social challenges, locally, nationally and globally.<\/li>\n<li>The linear dialog between the press and science is reaching its limits.<\/li>\n<li>Art is a source of social impetus here.<\/li>\n<li>Art can touch, stimulate the imagination, move solutions through associations.<\/li>\n<li>Voluntary process. Reasons can be concerns about the world, passing on experiences, influencing society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Sustainable art is political<\/h2>\n<p>Art can be political: In the tradition of John Heartfield, founder of political photomontage; Otto Dix, anti-war glorifying; Picasso&#8217;s Guernica protests against war and destruction.<\/p>\n<p>Art politically addresses ecology: Joseph Beuys is open to criticism, but planted 7000 oaks, &#8220;Urban Forestation Instead of Urban Administration,&#8221; as a sign against the destruction of nature. For artists, the material they use, their business <\/li>\n<li>The theme of the exhibitions, the works<\/li>\n<li>The public for guests, advertising<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Operation of the exhibition venue<\/h3>\n<p>Establish a Green Team, formulate a mission statement<br \/>\nRecord consumption values<br \/>\nSavings potential for electricity for lighting and devices? Lighting concept<br \/>\nHeating of exhibition and workspaces: shock ventilation, room temperature<br \/>\nPrinting orders, e.g., recycled paper<br \/>\nWaste separation, waste avoidance<br \/>\nEcological service providers: catering, provider, bank<br \/>\nReuse packaging<br \/>\nKitchenette coffee machine <\/p>\n<h4>Operation: Networking<\/h4>\n<p>Gallery Climate Coalition (GCC) is an international non-profit community of arts organizations committed to reducing the environmental impact of their sector.<br \/>\nThe GCC&#8217;s primary goal is to reduce its CO 2 emissions by at least 50% by 2030 and to promote zero waste.<br \/>\nMembers are artists, commercial and non-commercial art institutions.<br \/>\nOffer CO2 calculator, best practice guidelines, campaigns<br \/>\n&#8220;Sustainability Action Network&#8221; Focus on operational ecology, trains consultants, certificate, e.g. museums with air conditioning, theaters<br \/>\nOffers from GG3 on gg3.eu under &#8220;Gallery&#8221;, &#8220;Sustainable&#8221;: Mission statement,<br \/>\nSustainability check for project spaces, sustainability as a theme for artworks and exhibitions, sustainability for visual artists, sustainability for commercial galleries<\/p>\n<h3>Material of the artists:Inside<\/h3>\n<p>As a gallery, encourage the use of sustainable materials<br \/>\nFor example, the exhibition &#8220;Light-footed&#8221; requires a small ecological footprint for the artwork.<br \/>\nThe organizer expresses the wish that the artists use sustainable materials.<br \/>\ngg3.eu\/nachhaltigkeit-fuer-bildende-kuenstlerinnen\/<br \/>\nHe refers to material sources such as HDM, Kunststoffe e.V.<br \/>\nRequests postal delivery instead of artists&#8217; personal arrival.<br \/>\nArrival e.g. by train instead of flight<\/p>\n<h2>Sustainability in the topic<\/h2>\n<p>From current social discussion<br \/>\nWorks e.g. Thomas Behling &#8220;Map of Berlin&#8221; (detail)<br \/>\nGG3 &#8211; Exhibitions:<br \/>\nafter the disaster in the Ahr Valley: &#8220;Deluge Today&#8221;<br \/>\n&#8220;Farmer Seeks Industry&#8221; Species extinction<br \/>\n&#8220;Cargo&#8221; Traffic for goods, delivery services<br \/>\n&#8220;Light-footed&#8221; small ecological footprint. Reduce energy costs, support federal government, sustainability action network, e.g. energy consulting for theaters, train <a href=\"https:\/\/aktionsnetzwerk-nachhaltigkeit.de\/transformationsmanagement-kultur\/\">transformation managers<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Kommunale Galerien Berlin: The working group organized <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbk-berlin.de\/kalender\/tagung-der-kommunalen-galerien-berlin-schoepfen-ohne-erschoepfung-nachhaltigkeit-im-kunst\">a conference<\/a> on the NH.<\/li>\n<li>Commercial galleries Berlin: <a href=\"https:\/\/projektzukunft.berlin.de\/wettbewerbe\/laufende-wettbewerbe\/galleries-for-future-wettbewerb-2022\">2022 competition<\/a> by the Berlin Senate of Economics, galleries show very different levels of commitment<\/li>\n<li>Art academies: Weissensee School of Art has a sustainability mission statement, Berlin University of the Arts has a climate protection concept for operations and teaching.<br \/>\nThe process is too slow.
